Sponsorship
PRE considers sponsorship, donations and philanthropy (patronage) areas very important and systemic activities. Pražská energetika provides sponsorship support to selected large actions, some organisations, festivals, cultural and sport events. PRE devotes itself to such activities also in order to become visible and to continue in promoting the company’s good name among the public. The company, however, is more involved in the pure philanthropy, i.e. supporting needs in the areas such as charity, healthcare, social care, culture, education and environment. Such charity work serves public interests in their broader sense and assist in building up the company identity and long-term image.
Pražská energetika extensively supports projects related to the region, in which the company, which is the supplier of electricity mainly in the capital of the Czech Republic and in the town of Roztoky u Prahy carries out its activities. Such projects are not selected randomly; on the contrary, PRE has been striving for creating a long-term partnership with some foundations or healthcare institutions already for several years.
This co-operation evolves successfully, namely with Spastic Handicap, a. s., and with foundation “Pomocná ruka” (Helping Hand), which supports persons with health, physical and social handicaps, etc. Long-term partnership continues with Faculty Hospital Královské Vinohrady - Department of Burns Medicine.
PRE routes financial means donated to these foundations and organisations to specific targets. whether it is a purchase of healthcare aids or equipment, repairs and maintenance of a building or paying part of operating costs. In any case PRE reserves the right to be informed about the purpose for which the financial means shall be used and the company also to carry out subsequent control.
Total amount donated for such purposes ranges to millions of Czech crowns; in spite of that – or for that reason – PRE cannot satisfy all requests for support, help and co-operation, which are sent to the company almost every day.
Every such request received by PRE is subject to three rounds of assessment and discussion, in which the company Board of Directors plays a decisive role. Public Relations Department of PRE is then entrusted with performing the approved co-operation.
From the viewpoint of its mission, PRE is the part of everyday life in our capital city. Donorship gives human aspect to the business of PRE. Company representatives are aware of the social responsibility towards the region, in which PRE carries out is activities; and least but not last they aim for moving the overall opinion on Pražská energetika to a different, advanced level by means of philanthropy.
